As I have mentioned numerous time that I'm from a foodie family where having a well prepared delectable meal with great presentation and interesting flavor is a must. Cooking can give you a kind of personal gratification that hardly any forms of art can, in fact it's not just art but a combination of science and art. Some are gifted cooks and it comes naturally to them whereas there are those who pave their path to greatness. Happily for me, my husband and I both love to cook, and we love to get into the kitchen toge

Singapore Chicken Curry

Singapore Chicken Curry I was rolling and turning trying to open my eyes as the alarm clock went off at 6 am when the sun poured through my window. Another day had dawned bringing with new hopes and aspirations to start my day. Slowly and unsteadily I entered the kitchen rubbing my bleary eyes to find a shady figure roaming around carry a tray out of the oven. The aroma of the freshly baked bread with herbs filled the room making my tummy crying with hunger. Myself: What are doing so early in kitchen sunshine? Little Chef: I'm baking for today's lunch mommy. Have you forgotten?? Myself: What's so special today? Little Chef: Ohh !! You promised to prepare Singapore Chicken Curry if I-bake bread right?? (giving me a nasty look).  Myself: Yeah right.  As everyone knows I enjoy cooking a lot  more than thought I would by the time I finished. Every meal in my house eventually ends with a discussion about what the next meal will consist. "THE FOODIE FAMILY" . I have

Singapore Hainanese Chicken Rice

Ever wonder what it's like to be living in Singapore during one's childhood?? Being married and  bounced from one place to another makes me miss my entire childhood. At that time there wasn't anything I wanted more in my life, just to get back to my childhood life once again. One of the best things about being in Singapore is undoubtedly the food.   It is no secret that Singaporeans eat and drink with a passion and I really miss is FOOD as I grow up eating the local dishes and I've come to the conclusion that there are problems no other dish that can fill the spot of the " Singapore Hainanese Chicken Rice ". The local dishes available in there just blow my mind- cause it's not just made up of single cuisine but with 4 major ones (Chinese, Indian, Malay, and Eurasian) and also includes many other sub-cultures like the Peranakan, Cantonese, and multinational cuisines. Singapore has a history of migration. As each ethnic group and subgroup came to Singapore,

Well that's natural I guess.  Being in my native since March 2020 , I have being trying to sit down quietly to publish my back-locked  recipes but its not happening as my screen keeps looking blankly at me whenever I try to write . Arghhhh!!!!   But today sitting in current quarantine situation , sipping coffee and remembering some old times does make things warm. I do sound like a granny but the fact is I miss my home back , stuck up in this situation all I do is dream of good old days. I have being cooking a lot during the holidays yet due to the shifting and other issues I was not able to sit in front of my computer. You can also make the sauce thinner and prepare gravy version as well.  They are best served immediately so that it's still mildly cr

Scrambled Eggs With Capsicums

Scrambled Eggs With Capsicums Cooking is my favorite activity because it’s a way for me to reduce stress and I can be artistic about it and it never gets repetitive. A great way for me to reduce stress and when every time I get upset or stressed up I can just cook something I want to eat. I started to cook when I was about 10 years old, when I was home alone all by myself and I was pretty hungry, being a South Indian there’s always sufficient dosa batter in our fridge. I prepare myself some dosa not perfect ones but eatable. That’s how my journey in cooking got shaped and here I am. As for today's recipe I have adapted from chili paneer recipe to fulfill my son's wish to have eggs with capsicum. This is a very quick to put up and will go very well with Chinese fried rice or any variety rice for that sake.Capsicum with eggs is very easy and simple stir fry. The delicate taste and th pleasant flavor of capsicums when paired with eggs makes a delicious stir fry. Toma

Tom Yum Chicken Ball Soup

Winter is officially tuned here making me so irritable and moody. Im winter allergic and thrilled at the same time about it as I can simply blame the winter seasons for my mood swings and outbrust. One of the worst things about winter is how it gets cold and dark really early making driving risky at road. However, this is the best time to stay indoors where its warmed cosy. You can relax with a great book or entertaining film, knowing that the frosty weather is safely on the opposite side of the window!! Its also the perfect moments to stay inside on a chilly evening calling out for hot chocolate, warm apple juice or copious mugs of tea or steaming bowls of healthy soups. Being from the Asian background I'm always looking upon preparing dishes with a touch of The South East Asian Region to satisfy my cravings when  feel homesick. I have being wanting to prepare Tom Yum Soup for a quite sometimes but somehow end up preparing something else instead. Anyways Thai Tom Yu
